Teej - Festival de la Mujer

Teej es un festival de ayuno para las mujeres hindúes. Se lleva a cabo en el tercer día de la Shukla Paksha del mes Sawaan del hindú que normalmente cae entre finales de julio hasta principios de septiembre. Este festival está dedicado a la diosa Parvati y celebra su regreso al Señor Shiva. Teej es en alabanza de la felicidad conyugal y el bienestar de su cónyuge e hijos. La caída en el mes hindú de Bhado, Teej también celebra la llegada del monzón tan esperado después de un verano caliente brutalmente. El festival es una celebración de tres días que incluye tanto el ayuno rígido y de banquete para chuparse los dedos.
