Teej - Festival de la femme

Teej est un festival de jeûne pour les femmes hindoues. Elle a lieu le troisième jour de l'Shukla Paksha du mois Sawaan de l'Hindou qui tombe normalement entre fin Juillet à début Septembre. Ce festival est dédié à la déesse Parvati et célèbre son retour à Shiva. Teej est à la louange de bonheur conjugal et le bien-être de conjoint et les enfants. Tomber dans le mois hindou de Bhado, Teej célèbre aussi l'arrivée de la mousson tant attendue après un été brutalement chaud. Le festival est une célébration de trois jours, qui comprend à la fois le jeûne rigide et festins somptueux.
