Teej - Festival delle donne

Teej è un festival del digiuno per le donne indù. Si svolge il terzo giorno dello Shukla Paksha del mese indù Sawaiano che normalmente cade tra la fine di luglio e l'inizio di settembre. Questo festival è dedicato alla Dea Parvati e celebra il suo ritorno a Lord Shiva. Teej elogia la felicità coniugale e il benessere di coniuge e figli. Caduto nel mese indù di Bhado, Teej celebra anche l'arrivo del tanto atteso monsone dopo un'estate brutalmente calda. Il festival è una celebrazione di tre giorni che include sia un digiuno rigido che una deliziosa festa.
